Archived court records in California
If the case you are interested in has been archived, to retrieve case information from the Federal Records Center you may contact the Records Department of the division where the petition was filed either by phone, by writing or in person. Disclosure of any record that is exempt from disclosure under the California Public Records Act (see, e.g., Gov. Code, § 6254) or any other applicable law, can be denied.

Juvenile court records in California. How to seal and/or expunge
Juvenile records do appear on your criminal record in California. Upon 18th birthday, a person is eligible to petition to have their juvenile records sealed. Once sealed, no one can gain access to those juvenile court records and they will be completely destroyed and erased five years from the date of sealing. About Sealed Court Records and Procedure
Just wanting to avoid the interest of the public to have legitimate request to seal a court record honored is not enough. As of Jan. 1, 2007, two new California court rules (2.550 and 2.551) contain the judicial criteria and procedure for sealing a court record.
Generally, court records are presumed to be open to the public unless those records must remain confidential under existing law (adoption records, sexual crime victim identities and the like).
